Vorthmann Limousin Focus on Family Values IX Limousin Sale

It was a picture-perfect day September 24 at the Vorthmann Limousin farm, which set a gorgeous backdrop for a powerful “Focus on Family Values” sale. Buyers came early, looked through an excellent set of cattle and aggressively went after their favorites during the bid-off. Bulls were especially liked and paced the sale with a $3,500 average. The Vorthmann family made sure no one left hungry and cooked up a delicious beef brisket lunch accommodated by corn, baked beans, a summer salad and an assortment of sweets.

Vorthmann Limousin’s annual Focus on Family Values Private Treaty Sale is loaded with quality once again. The Vorthmann family – Roger & Ann, Deb, Chad & Garin, and Erica & Josh Shipman – welcomes juniors and fellow cattlemen to their farm September 24 for their ninth private treaty sale. The sale is titled and formatted to showcase family. Both as it applies to the Vorthmann family and the genuine relationships with their customers as well as the powerful cow-families that make up the VL herd.

50+ lots will be offered, including the cream of the 2011 calf crop. Many well-known sires and daughters have been offered in this sale in years past; 2011 is no different. Check out the catalog; pictures to come soon.

**Special Note: Vorthmann Limousin is proud to sponsor one of the “Lucky 7 Females.” The “Lucky 7″ program will be used to raise money for the 2012 NALJA Limousin Show to be held in Des Moines, IA. Vorthmann Limousin will be donating one of seven bred heifers to be raffled off in support of the show. The bred heifer will be on display sale day. Tickets can be purchased for $100/chance. Only a few remain. Winner will be drawn at the 2012 Iowa Beef Expo. No other fundraiser will be used to host the show. Contact Ann or Roger for more information.
