2010 Iowa Limousin Beef Expo Sale

A large crowd and active bidding showed strong support for Limousin and Lim-Flex® genetics at the Iowa Beef Expo Limousin Sale. Buyers rewarded consignors selling cattle with strong EPDs, power, balance and performance. Top-notch herd bulls and a select group of show heifers were sale highlights. The entire sale grossed $159,149 as 78 Limousin and Lim-Flex® cattle lots averaged $2,040.

The Iowa Limousin Association will again be hosting the Iowa Beef Expo Limousin Sale at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, February 17. The Iowa Beef Expo Limousin Sale has traditionally offered up many of the Midwest’s finest Limousin and Lim-Flex® genetics. 2010 is no exception.

89 registered Limousin and Lim-Flex® lots will hit the auction block starting at 12:00 Noon. Highlights include: stout Limousin and Lim-Flex bulls, fancy show heifer prospects and standout replacement females.

Tuesday, Feb. 16, 11:00 a.m. -- Limousin bull and female show followed by the Lim-Flex® bull show. Lim-Flex® females will be paraded shortly afterward.
Feb. 16, 5:30 p.m. -- Iowa Limousin Association/Heartland Limousin Association joint social in the FFA building just west of the cattle barn. It is a “come as you are from the barn” event. Expect free food, drink and great Limousin fellowship and some “bull” along the way. It’s always a good time.
The Heartland Limousin Association’s annual benefit auction will be held after dinner. If interested in donating an item, contact Dean Summerbell: 612/963-3799. Buyers are needed too, as the auction helps to keep Dean and Beverly Summerbell “on the road” in 2010.
